National Testing Agency has announced that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21, 2026 (Sunday), following the cancellation of the earlier exam due to allegations of a question paper leak and other examination-related irregularities. The decision has been taken with the approval of the Government of India.

In an official communication, NTA advised candidates and their parents to depend only on verified and official sources for all updates regarding the medical entrance examination. The agency also shared helpline details to assist students with queries related to the rescheduled test.

The original NEET UG 2026 examination was held on May 3, but it was later scrapped after investigating agencies raised concerns about the fairness and integrity of the examination process. Reports had suggested that certain questions matched content allegedly leaked prior to the exam, intensifying the controversy.

The cancellation created uncertainty among lakhs of medical aspirants regarding admissions, counselling schedules and preparation plans, with students seeking clarity on the revised exam date.

NTA had earlier stated that the updated schedule would be released through official notifications. With the June 21 date now confirmed, candidates will be issued fresh admit cards ahead of the examination. However, the agency clarified that students will not be required to fill out new application forms or pay any additional fees for the re-test. Existing registrations, application details and exam city preferences will remain valid.

New admit cards, city intimation slips and updated exam-day instructions are expected to be released closer to the examination date through the official portal.
