Description
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education will conduct the Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations (IPASE) 2026 for first and second-year students from May 13 to May 21 across the state.
According to the board, nearly 3.98 lakh students from General and Vocational streams are expected to appear for the supplementary theory examinations this year. This includes 2,67,285 first-year candidates and 1,31,073 second-year students, including private applicants.
The examinations will be organised in two shifts each day. First-year exams will take place from 9 am to 12 noon, while second-year papers will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Over 1.31 Lakh Second-Year Students to Appear
Among second-year examinees, male candidates outnumber female students. Board data shows that 83,692 boys and 47,371 girls will appear for the exams.
In the General stream, 74,883 boys and 44,365 girls have registered. Meanwhile, the Vocational stream includes 8,809 male candidates and 3,006 female students.
Arrangements Made for Smooth Conduct of Exams
The board has coordinated with several government departments to ensure the examinations are conducted without disruptions. Transport authorities have been instructed to provide adequate bus services for students and staff during the exam period.
Power supply officials have also been directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity at all examination centres. In addition, District Medical and Health Officers have been asked to arrange medical assistance and deploy a nurse or ANM staff member at every centre.
Police and revenue departments have been instructed to temporarily close xerox shops near examination centres during exam hours to prevent malpractice and paper leaks.
The board further stated that all centres will be equipped with drinking water, wall clocks, and proper seating arrangements. Officials clarified that no student will be required to sit on the floor during the examinations.
Question Papers Sent to Districts
TGBIE confirmed that question papers and answer booklets have already been dispatched to districts for distribution to examination centres before the exams begin.
Regional Joint Directors of Intermediate Education along with officials from the board headquarters in Hyderabad will serve as observers throughout the examination schedule.
The board warned that strict action would be taken against any official or institution found violating examination guidelines or encouraging malpractice.
QR Code-Enabled Hall Tickets Introduced
As part of a digital initiative, hall tickets will be shared with students through a mobile link. The admit cards will include QR codes that can be scanned to locate the examination centre.
Students have been advised to carefully check details such as their name, medium, and subjects mentioned on the hall ticket. Any errors must be corrected through the respective college principal before the examination date.
The board also made it clear that candidates without a valid TGBIE hall ticket will not be allowed inside the examination hall.
Students Asked to Reach Centres Early
The board has issued strict reporting guidelines for candidates. First-year students must report to their centres by 8 am, while second-year candidates are required to arrive by 1:30 pm.
Officials said the early reporting schedule has been introduced to strengthen verification procedures and reduce malpractice.
Students will be given time to verify their biodata on OMR sheets between 8:45 am and 9 am for first-year exams, and between 2:15 pm and 2:30 pm for second-year exams. Question papers will be distributed immediately after the verification process is completed.
