Scientists have recently identified two previously unknown freshwater fish species in Nagaland, revealing the largely unexplored aquatic diversity of Northeast India. The research was published in the international journal Zootaxa by J. Praveenraj of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Central Island Agricultural Research Institute and independent researcher Balaji Vijayakrishnan.
