Description

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued the official notification for the recruitment of Assistants under Panel Year 2025. A total of 650 vacancies have been announced across various RBI offices nationwide. The selection process will be conducted through a nationwide competitive examination.

Interested and eligible candidates must submit their applications online through the RBI official website. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be considered.

Important Dates

  • Online application period: February 16, 2026 to March 8, 2026

  • Online fee payment window: February 16, 2026 to March 8, 2026

  • Preliminary Examination (tentative): April 11, 2026

  • Main Examination (tentative): June 7, 2026

RBI has stated that the examination schedule may be revised if necessary.

Vacancy Details

The 650 Assistant positions are distributed across RBI offices in cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur & Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram.

The Bank retains the authority to increase or decrease the number of vacancies depending on administrative requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Applicants must be:

  • Indian citizens, or

  • Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or

  • Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, or

  • Persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (subject to eligibility certification by the Government of India).

Age Limit (as of February 1, 2026)

  • Minimum age: 20 years

  • Maximum age: 28 years

Candidates must have been born between February 2, 1998 and February 1, 2006 (inclusive).

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10–15 years, depending on category

  • Ex-servicemen: As per service rules

  • Widows/divorced women/judicially separated women: Up to 35–40 years, depending on category

  • RBI employees with work experience: Relaxation equivalent to years of service (maximum 3 years)

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

  • Basic knowledge of computer word processing.

  • Proficiency in the local language of the region applied for (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).

Ex-servicemen must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification after completing a minimum of 15 years of defence service.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in three phases:

  • Preliminary Examination

  • Main Examination

  • Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The LPT will be conducted in the official or local language of the respective state. Candidates who fail to demonstrate adequate proficiency will be disqualified.

Examination Pattern

Preliminary Exam

  • English Language: 30 questions (30 marks)

  • Numerical Ability: 35 questions (35 marks)

  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (35 marks)

Total: 100 questions, 100 marks

Duration: 60 minutes

Main Exam

  • Reasoning: 40 questions (40 marks)

  • English Language: 40 questions (40 marks)

  • Numerical Ability: 40 questions (40 marks)

  • General Awareness: 40 questions (40 marks)

  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions (40 marks)

Total: 200 questions, 200 marks

Negative marking will apply for incorrect answers in both stages.

Application Fee

  • Rs 450 for General and OBC candidates

  • Rs 50 for SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and RBI staff candidates

The fee must be paid online.

  • First visit the official RBI official website.

  • Now click on “Recruitment for the Post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025.”

  • Complete the registration process to receive a provisional registration number and password.

  • Fill in the required personal and educational details accurately.

  • Upload photograph, signature, and other necessary documents as per guidelines.

  • Review the application carefully using the preview option.

  • Pay the application fee online.

  • Submit the form by clicking on “Complete Registration.”

  • Download and print a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

Candidates should ensure all details are correct before final submission, as no modifications will be allowed afterward.
