The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has released the Phase 2 call letters for the Grade A (Assistant Manager) recruitment exam. Candidates who have qualified for Phase 2 can now download their admit cards from the official website at sebi.gov.in. Applicants are advised to download their call letter promptly and verify all the details carefully.

SEBI Grade A Phase 2: Posts Available

The Phase 2 online examination is being conducted for the post of Officer Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager) in the following streams:

  • General

  • Legal

  • Information Technology

  • Research

  • Official Language

  • Engineering (Electrical)

  • Engineering (Civil)

SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Exam Pattern

Paper 1 (Common for all streams)

  • Type: English Descriptive Test

  • Sections: Essay (30 marks), Precis (30 marks), Comprehension (40 marks)

  • Total Marks: 100

  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • Cut-off: 30%

  • Weightage: 1/3

Paper 2 (Stream-Specific)

General Stream:

  • 100 MCQs covering Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Costing, Companies Act, and Economics

  • Maximum Marks: 100, Duration: 90 minutes, Cut-off: 40%

  • Weightage: 2/3

Legal Stream:

  • 70 MCQs (70 marks, 60 minutes)

  • 3 Descriptive Questions (10 marks each, 60 minutes)

  • Total Marks: 100, Cut-off: 40%

  • Weightage: 2/3

Information Technology Stream:

  • 100 MCQs on logic flow, debugging, syntax, program dry run, output, and data analysis

  • Marks: 100, Duration: 180 minutes, Cut-off: 40%

  • Weightage: 2/3

Research Stream:

  • Total Marks: 100, Duration: 120 minutes, Cut-off: 40%

  • Section A: 2 descriptive questions out of 4 (25 marks each)

  • Section B: 2 questions out of 4 (12.5 marks each)

  • Section C: 1 question out of 3 (25 marks)

  • Focus: Economics, Financial Markets, and Statistics

Official Language Stream:

  • 8 descriptive questions

  • Maximum Marks: 100, Duration: 90 minutes, Cut-off: 40%

  • Tasks: Translation (Hindi ? English), précis writing, legal/technical translation, sentence correction

Engineering (Electrical & Civil) Stream:

  • 50 MCQs, Marks: 100, Duration: 40 minutes, Cut-off: 40%

  • Weightage: 2/3

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Paper 1 will be conducted online, and answers must be typed using a keyboard.

  • Paper 2 for General, Engineering, and Legal (Objective Type) will contain only MCQs.

  • Negative marking of 1/4th marks for incorrect answers will apply to objective papers.

  • Descriptive answers in the Legal stream must be typed.

  • Candidates appearing for two streams will need to attempt both Paper 2 exams on the same day.

  • Candidates must exit the exam hall/lab in an orderly manner after the exam.

  • To qualify, candidates must meet cut-offs in each paper and minimum aggregate marks as prescribed by SEBI.

  • First visit the official website.

  • Go to the “Careers” or “Recruitment” section

  • Click on the link for “SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Call Letter”

  • Enter your registration number and password/date of birth

  • Download and print the admit card
